Netrino LogoESC has a long tradition of providing cutting edge information to its attendees. For many, these educational sessions are the reason they attend year after year.

This year, Netrino, a leader in training and engineering services for designers involved in next-generation of embedded systems, will present three sessions that promise to be both informative and highly entertaining. These sessions are open to all attendees (both ESC Conference and Expo attendees) and are held in the ESC Theater on the main conference floor.

Focusing on issues surrounding the implementation of custom microprocessor based electronics and related software for high-volume electronics products, each of the three one-hour sessions will give you a new perspective on key challenges you face.

Each session is 45 minutes in duration with a 15 minute Q&A.

Session 1: Tuesday, March 31, 6:00pm-7:00pm
Adventures in Piracy: Satellite TV Hacking, Embedded Systems Security, and the Legal System

Brush up on your forensic software skills! An insider’s view of the cat-and-mouse legal battle between one satellite TV provider and an army of hackers bent on stealing their signal. Over 25,000 lawsuits hinged on embedded systems and expert witness testimony.

Session 2: Wednesday, April 1, 6:00pm-7:00pm
RTOS Myth busters: The Top 5 Mistakes Every RTOS User Should Avoid

Netrino challenges the conventional wisdom surrounding RTOS, dispelling the most common myths. An engaging, in-depth discussion of the proper implementation of Real-Time Operating Systems and common mistakes that can undo your designs, this session will give you a new perspective on RTOS development.

Session 3: Thursday 11:30am -12:30pm
This Code Stinks: The Worst Embedded Code Ever Written

Laughter…or nervous laughter? Come see just how bad software can be. Examples of real-world, really-bad code, culled from years of reviewing code will be presented and dissected. In addition to discussing why they are bad, Netrino will present specific project management, design, and code/layout practices you can implement to help you avoid repeating them.

These sessions are sure to be popular so mark your calendar and be in the audience!
